KenZoku is defeated, reports suggest

Celebrate your victory!

Celebrate your victory!

Massively’s James Egan just reported it, but the news is no less extraordinary repeated in the circles of the blogosphere. KenZoku has reputedly given up on the war effort in Delve and Querious and has moved itself to the lonely confines of Empire Space. My searches have not found any article on EVE’s CAOD forums or Scrapheap Challenge War and Politics that contains a press release from KenZoku, but forum posts (such as this whimsical beauty) do suggest that they have tossed in the towel. Dotlan, over the past few days, is showing a significant drop in sov and systems claimed for the once proud alliance. Could this truly be the end?

The most intriguing aspect of the events leading up to this moment is the new hierarchy of great powers in EVE.  The defeat will shake up the arena, especially if KenZoku corporations split off and their alliances are voided. How the diplomatic arena will respond to Goonswarms uncontested dominance (and how the Goons will react as well) will be an interesting event to study. May you live in exciting times indeed.

  1. Doesn’t the Goon Bloc relax inter alliance protocols during lulls?
That way pilots can get their kicks killing each other, they keep their edge and there is no pressure to seek an unnecessary war. When a new power emerges, then the Bloc reforms. In the meantime, Pandemic Legion (especially) gets to have fun training many Goonfleet pilots the hard way.
